My name is Gene Murphy and welcome to my website.

Thank you for coming this far and having an interest in my writing. It’s a passion of mine that I return to each day, using my time outside of work hours to write pieces I feel worth writing. Thankfully, the hours I’ve put into reading and writing have yielded some success, not that success is the why?

For instance, in 2020, I won the CFLT Short Story Competition. My short stories and poems have appeared in Irish and international publications, including Sonder, The Places, The Galway Review, The Things Unsaid and The Honest Ulsterman.

I also completed my first novel in 2021 and I’m currently in the process of editing it.
